Job Description

Broward House, an HIV/AIDS Organization, is hiring a graduate level therapist for our holistic Co-Occurring Therapy program for individuals living with HIV. The program serves individuals in the community impacted disproportionately by HIV. 

Must be skilled in individual and group intervention modalities with an understanding of Case management and Linkage to care. Hours may vary, including weekends and evenings on a monthly basis. The position requires some home-visits and other community outreach responsibilities.

The desirable candidate joining our team has proficient assessment, diagnostic and organizational skills with a commitment to quality standards and effective treatment outcomes to those in our community impacted by HIV, substance abuse, homelessness and societal stigmas. The individual must demonstrate an ability to build rapport and provide creative interventions while culturally sensitive to our diverse client population. Experience with the LGBTQ population preferred.

Necessary knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Complete an integrated assessment of individual clients and revise as necessary.
  • Develops an integrated and collaborative individualized clinical treatment plan with a transition component.
  • Provides the appropriate level of individual therapeutic intervention to support the stabilization and progression of clients
  • Develop and facilitate group therapy session with a variety of delivery methods covering a full range of clinical topics and life areas
  • Provides linkage and navigation for health care, supports services and risk reduction activities as appropriate
  • Must have a master’s degree in Social Work
  • One year experience working with substance abuse populations or with mental health disorders
  • Knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques and trauma informed recovery required
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS preferred

Skill / Requirements

  • Must have a master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited university, License preferred
  • One year Case Management experience
  • Knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques and trauma informed recovery 
  • One year experience with Substance Abuse population and group interventions preferred
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS preferred

Important Notes


  • Master's degree in social work from an accredited university and  Florida State Clinical Registered Intern or License
  • One year experience in the HIV/AIDS field
  • LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS experience is encouraged to apply


  • HIV 500/501 preferred

Must pass all drug and background screening requirements, including a level 2 federal background and motor vehicle screening
