Job Description

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for handling the day-to-day responsibilities of the Human Resources Department while providing assistance to Managers and team members on a daily basis. The Human Resources Manager is integral to the onboarding and training of all team members, recruitment, performance management, employee relations, record retention and benefits.

* Maintain thorough and current knowledge of all Human Resources/employee regulations and laws while ensuring that the property is compliant with Federal and State laws.
* Assist team members with questions and complaints timely, keep General Manager informed of issues as they arise.
* Communicate new policies, information, and directives to all team members. Instruct in interpretation of HR policies and procedures and ensure team member compliance.
* Track performance management process and partner with the management team to ensure performance reviews are given timely.
* Organize regular orientations and coordinate onboarding process for all new team members.
* Review applicants, conduct interviews and oversee recruitment process, including reference and background checks.
* Advertise open positions internally and externally and update on a weekly basis.
* Input all new hire information, personnel changes and 401(k) information into HR system.
* Maintain team member files.
* Develop, conduct and track training for all team members.
* Adhere to proper deadlines and regulations of paperwork and system processes.
* Send out regular HR notifications to all team members via postings or payroll attachments.
* Ensure I-9 compliance in accordance with Federal law.
* Administer benefits to all eligible team members.
* Complete OSHA spreadsheets and report all workers' compensation claims. Keep General Manager informed of new and ongoing claims updates.
* Maintain open and productive relationship with Corporate Human Resources and Area Director of Human Resources.
* Track performance review process and ensure reviews are completed timely.
* Monitor and approve time off requests and submit to Accounting for processing.
* Conduct training and orientation as needed.
* Monitor and track leaves of absence.
* Prepare and maintain Human Resources budget.
* Assist managers with discipline process to address team member performance issues.
* Ensure Team Member Engagement Survey is completed by all team members annually/bi-annually.
* Maintain a personal demeanor that is friendly, cheerful and courteous at all times.
* Greet team members by name and ensure all team members feel welcomed to the property.
* Promote hotel vision/mission and guest service standards to all team members.
* Provide constant and consistent communication with other departments and supervisors/managers with regard to status of new hires, arranging trainings, policies/procedures, etc.
* Attend meetings as needed/required.

* Bachelor's degree required (focus in Human Resources preferred)
* At least 3-5 years progressive Human Resources experience in the hospitality or related field
* Intermediate computer skills
* Possess strong communication skills
* Bilingual or multi-lingual preferred
