Performs technical and patient care functions during diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cardiovascular Lab while assisting the Department Manager in coordinating the department operational, and financial activities; Provides clinical and operational leadership which includes the maintenance and reporting of Heart Program data, staff scheduling, patient flow and clinical compliance to policy and procedures.
*Performs all of the duties and responsibilities assigned to a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist III.
*Follows safety; infection, radiation and environmental practices and procedures.
*Manages daily department operations
*Daily Staffing to volume
*Coordinates schedule to optimize CVL access.
*Works with scheduling department to maximize operational efficiencies.
*Perform Audits to ensure quality assurance and control on critical quality indicators.
*Alert CVL manager to Equipment malfunction or issues.
*Takes lead when management is away from department
* Responsibility for an area or program (Electrophysiology, Cardiac Devices, Pediatrics, Neuro Intervention, Structural Heart and/or Vascular) that supports the operation of the CVL.
*circulate, scrub and record independently on Adult Diagnostic/Interventional procedures and in 3 out of 5 other service areas (Electrophysiology, Pediatrics, Neuro Intervention, Structural Heart and/or Vascular).
Education: Associates Degree in either nursing or radiology, or a graduate of a Cardiovascular / Cardiopulmonary Technologist program or Paramedic Program.
Experience: Four years of adult cath lab diagnostic and interventional procedure experience in performing scrubbing, circulating and monitoring/recording duties.
Credentials: CIS/RCES required or must be eligible and have RCIS/RCES certification within first year of employment. ACLS & PALS is required within the first 6 months.
