Education:
Essential:
* High School Diploma or GED

 

Other information:
High School graduate, (G.E.D.) is required. Associates degree or 2 - 3 years post-secondary education required but experience in lieu of education may be substituted in accordance with organizational practice. Three to five years relevant experience, with at least three years experience working in Health Information Management, acute care hospital environment required. Must be proficient in all areas the Health Information Department. RHIT/RHIA preferred. Prefer emphasis on maintaining document requirements, correspondence/release of information, birth certificates medical record completion and discharge analysis. Demonstrated competency in all areas of Health Information Management. Experience with Epic, McKesson Horizon Patient Folder , and 3M HIM and Release of Information platforms. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Detail and results oriented. Ability to work independently and make independent decisions

Summary:
Supervises, plans and coordinates the daily operations of the medical record/health information management departments of assigned Presbyterian Hospital, Kaseman Hospital, HealthPlex, Rust Medical Center and Presbyterian Medical Group (PMG) clinics. Supervises the day to day workflows including staff scheduling, scheduling/monitoring of performance to ensure quality and accuracy in record processing (prepping, scanning and quality assurance) and completion. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations in pertaining to medical record documentation requirements. Is responsible for organizing, distributing and prioritizing work assignments for staff. Monitors quality and quantity of work performed in support of performance level expectations. Ensures patient confidentiality and excellent customer service standards are maintained. Fosters open communications, shares the ideas, concerns and needs of the staff with department leadership
