The Division of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Preventative Medicine, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a full-time or part-time term HS Research Tech 1 Research Assistants. The Research Assistant will provide routine administrativeand technical assistance in the preparation for and performance of healthsciences laboratory and/or field research. Under direct supervision andinstruction from the PI, Clinical Research Manager and/or more senior technicalstaff the research assistant will assist with the execution of the studyprotocol. The research assistant may also provide administrative assistance, asneeded, for the successful implementation of the study. The research assistantswill be responsible for the screening and recruitment of study participants,conducting the informed consent, eligibility and baseline interviews as well asoverall data collection for the study. The research assistants will be trainedto and responsible for inputting data into REDCap and conducting appropriate dataqueries. They must be comfortable working with a diverse patient population.This job may require travel between different clinical sites in the greater Albuquerquemetro area.

Conditions of Employment
  • For individual positions in which driving is a job requirement, a valid NM driver's license and valid UNM driver's permit will be required.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
  • Annual TB testing may be required if working in a patient care area.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of directly related student practicum or equivalent experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Self-motivated,organized and can multi-task efficiently.
  • Abilityto communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Abilityto maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Mustbe able to follow both oral and written direction.
  • Computerskills a must, experience using REDCap would be a plus.
  • Bi-lingualin English and Spanish preferred.
  • Experienceworking in a clinical setting, preferably recruiting patients for clinicaltrials.
  • Comfortableworking independently and as part of a team.
Additional RequirementsSome travel within the greater Albuquerque area may be required. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Mileage will be reimbursed.
